One of the downsides of living rural in New Zealand is the public services are not what you would expect to have if you were a city dweller. For example, no mains water and sewage and no trash collection. You do of course pay slightly lower rates although missing... Since Spring has arrived all sorts of things are shooting up. I know our neighbours are hoping for rapid growth. After much waiting, fretting and painstaking planning today they broke ground on their house build. There’s a long story behind this build. ... After wishing for a house with a turret, another of thing on MT’s wish list was to have an orchard on our land.
