Whilst the Americas have been enjoying enduring the hurrican season we have been basking in early Spring sunshine. It was of course too good to last and back on schedule with the Spring equinox, the gales of Spring have arrived here in New Zealand. It was a relief this weekend to see so many of the trees and shrubs in the garden springing into life. This picture shows a true miracle. New shoots on a Viburnum Burkwoodii that should be pride of place under one of the turret windows. It was unfortunately... Spring has sprung – but then you know that already since I’ve told you often enough! No really, spring has sprung. And here is a Chatham Island Forget Me Not to celebrate the fact. These plants are nationally endangered but thriving in my back garden.... I took this picture in the Kaitoke Forest today when we were out walking the dogs. It was growing all tangled up in the trees, a mass of white against the otherwise green trees. Clearly a symbiotic relationship going on here.
