When did the common cold die? For all it’s faults you could at least guarantee how things would turn out. A red nose, a sore throat but then after a few days you’d be right again. These modern times it seems that it’s all about flu and viruses no one can predict. The worst of it seems to me be the fact that you think you’re over the worst then bam, you’re knocked out again by another symptom lurking in the background you least expect it.
There’s plenty of germs and bugs around right now and we’ve not been immune. Pity really as I have so much I want to do. Instead I’m stuck planning and thinking rather than just getting on with the job in hand. It’s a tad frustrating but with Spring around the corner optimism is the order of the day.
I took this photograph yesterday in a few moments I had to spare before delivering a coaching workshop in Wellington. The light across the harbour was amazing – it made the water glisten. No time for scouting a beautiful spot I had to make the most of the grungy waterside which I think does have it’s own charm in a reflective sort of way.
Gorgeous reflections. I like the way you capture in a photograph what the eye notices on a walk along the waterfront. It’s not always the big scenic vista that pleases the eye, but often the smaller details all around us. I have often walked along the waterfront enjoying a gaze at the reflections along the wharf on a perfect day. I feel drawn to look at this photograph for a lengthier time than some other scenic vistas and I think it’s because I feel as though I’m there, sat on the edge of the wharf, dangling my feet over the edge, looking for fish and pondering the way the light dances and plays on the surface. Beautiful.
I love the clarity of your photo and looking at it I felt it could be interpreted as a metaphor for life. Is my life crisp and clear with straight lines indicating the direction of things? Or is it mysterious and hazy, going first in one direction and then another? Probably the wobbly view with unexpected shapes and colours suddenly appearing. That’s what runs through my head when having a late night seesion on the pc because someone is snoring so loudly. And I don’t mean the cats though Patch aka Fatty does snore quite loudly. Hope you get over your cold soon.
