I don’t talk much about work – I mean paid work – on this blog. I did however want to mention that today I was running a workshop to help managers to become better coaches. It was the first time I’d offered this and the evaluations at the end of the day were very positive so I’m pleased with the way it went.
There is always something to learn from doing these sorts of things so next time it will be new and improved to build on all that feedback and learning. There is however little to be learned about Wellington weather – a topic I blog about a lot!
The venue for the workshop was right on the Wellington Harbour. In the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club no less. It was fantastic when I arrived in the morning with sunshine beating down on the water and Wellington basking in that crystal clear light. It was however not to last and before morning tea the weather had closed in, the wind whipped up and planes landing and leaving the airport getting buffetted about.
By lunch time it was misery with the rain arriving. You could hear my Wellington based participants telling out of towners that this is typical Spring weather in Wellington – wild and windy. Also, you can’t beat Wellington on a good day. So true!
Here’s some pictures to share my out of window view. At first the blue sky and then just a miserable white out. Still, I didn’t have much time to enjoy the view I was busy concentrating. Boy did my brain ache at the end of it!
The weather certainly keeps us on our toes and layering our wardrobes! I always have an assortment of garb in the boot of my car for the girls – from sun-hats to winter hats – jandals to boots! xx Love that spot for a meeting – I’ve had a few there in my BC days (and Dan has too) – makes for a relaxing respite from the sore head of concentration!
