This is a desperate attempt to convince myself that there is blue sky up there by capturing it in a photo. After all the misery brought by the recent rains I was beginning to doubt that we’d ever seen anything but rain clouds. I love this cloud formation – the menace of the dark clouds, the wispy white clouds that are glinting in the late afternoon sun.
It was just what I needed to wake me up after being locked up in the office all day preparing for some workshops I’m running this week.
This was almost a silhouette shot as the light was fading fast. That sun was trying hard to put in an appearance though. These trees look like they are reaching for the sky.
Funny how nature has a way of cheering me up. When I lived in Wellington I would never have noticed any of this. The skies are so much bigger out in the country. The landscapes more dramatic. Once again I’m counting my blessings that despite the rain and wind, I live in an incredibly beautiful spot.
Ah, beautiful shots and I too love to see ‘big’ views and outlooks. Though I love our house here in Welly it is lacking that one final ingredient – a big view – and one day, we’ll get the perfect combination – but in the meantime I am so grateful for not having to go far for a spectacular view.
Yep you are very lucky, we miss out on that awesome clear sky because of the street lights, although its not too bad where we are, next door just need to have their lights on and the stars vanish.
Hope you feeling a bit better about the weather. As said before I dont know why everyone is making such a fuss, but you are not just an english person having a winge – everyone is doing it! Most of the people I know doing it are my friends in the UK, like my mam who has snow last week, my friend who lost her sandpit in the wind and my other friend in London who was moaning because she has prickly heat with it being too hot!!
Lots of love, looking forward to seeing you soon xx
