It’s been a funny ol’ week. Lots happening, mixed weather but as I sat down today to decide on my blog I was stumped. I’ve usually got a list of things in my head to write about but not today.
You might wonder why bother? Blogging has become a bit of a habit for me, a daily reflection on what’s been happening in my little world. It’s also had the effect of changing the way I see every day things.Â
Before blogging I would have probably not noticed the way the sun was shining on the hills or the cloud formations. Indeed even my basset adventures might be seen as hum drum. But blogging has changed all that for me. I am so much more aware of my surroundings, my actions what I do with my day. Most of which never gets reported but I feel a better person for it.
So although there isn’t theme as such to today’s post, I’d like to share a few random sights that have left an impression on me this week. Lots happening at the weekend so there’ll be lots to say then – an of course MT is building up to his soapbox moment again!
Whose that stranger in our pen?
There was some role reversal this week as I had to head into town for work and MT was working at home. He got to do one of my chores, feeding and letting the chickens out. I managed to snap these shots to capture the moment. The chickens were real confused at who was coming to see them. Personally I think they were just dazzled by the red sweatshirt and the new language. I would be cooing, choocking and warbling to them and MT seemed to be giving them an update on the state of the world economy. Sheesh that man will take any opportunity to get on his soap box!
Compare – which would you choose?
In an idle moment whilst waiting for my client to appear for their coaching session I took a couple of snaps out of the window. It was actually a beautiful Wellington morning – the harbour was totally calm, the sun was shining, in fact one of those “can’t beat Wellington on a good day” moment. This is a view from the Terrace which is the main CBD road in town.
Now compare this home office – if you could choose where would you prefer to work?
I feel lucky to get a bit of both worlds. The ability to work from both home and meet up with people in the City. Wellington is a truly wonderful place to be – well, when it’s not windy and raining – but nevertheless of all the cities to work in there isn’t much better.
So there’s an insight into the world of this Domestic Executive. Chickens and skyscrapers – a rare combination indeed.
You’re so right about how blogging makes you look at your daily life. I’ve always been one of those people who chats non-stop in their head, it used to be filed into ‘possible topics for letter writing’and generally just stayed in my head. But blogging gives an immediate way of sharing those moments of beauty or humour which in my case at least would probably be lost or blurred together with so many other memories.
Yep, we were talking about this the other day weren’t we? Its amazing how now you can notice so much and you feel compelled to write about it! Keeping your blog up to date is awesome, its not really for all us readers out here but its for you to keep a diary of the most amazing moments of your life. So far you are proving there are many!! x
