For the last 24 hours we’ve been having what I can only describe as packamac weather. The sort of weather that it might rain, might not rain but when it ranges from a misty drizzle to a deluge. Whatever the type of rain there is one thing you can be sure of. You’re going to get wet without a waterproofing device of some description.
The rainfall monitor for Kaitoke seems to have stopped recording so I can’t tell you for definite the rainfall we’ve had in the last 24 hours but it will be something in the range of 50-60mm. That’s a lot of rain.
There was only one thing for it really but to take to Domestic Executive HQ control room and knuckle down and do some work. Better it was done whilst the rain was pummelling down on the veranda than wait till Monday when I have high hopes for the sun shining!
Here’s the best waterproofing device we installed with the house to help you spend more time outdoors.
Yes it’s our bullnose veranda that wraps around the front of the house. It’s great for checking out what’s happening outside without being too exposed to the elements. It’s perfect for protecting you when you’re out for a few quick snaps of the weather.
After all packamac or no packamac this sort of rain makes you very wet.
Yes, this was sheeting down kind of rain that was doing terrible things to the drive where we still have inadequate drainage. You’ll be pleased to know that we’ve got a man coming out to give us a quote for getting this sorted out.
It’s a fast flowing stream I can tell you that does terrible things to the chicken run too. I think it complements the small lakes that appear on the drive too!
The bassets and I aren’t really keen on rainy days but we made the most of it. I managed to get finished a workbook for a team coaching day I’m delivering next week. The bassets made up for their long summer running around. They let their legs hang down and took it easy.
To be entirely truthful Fortnum was more into curling up against the elements.
And he just snuggled up for a long long snooze.
Although I think Mason can do a better snuggle.
Just look at his eye half open and half closed. I love the way he has one paw sticking out. In case you’re wondering why. That paw is a territorial marker. It says, don’t come any further over this is my personal space. They are so child like it’s unbelievable.
I took a few minutes to doodle with Photoshop Elements. I found out how you put frames around things which was a few moments of fun. I’ve since found out a better way of converting photos from colour to black and white but that requires a whole heap more patience and time I have right now. I thought this little montage was rather cute.
MT thinks I’m developing a rather unhealthy habit of digital photography. He may be right…..or may be he’s just fed I keep the laptop that was actually bought with our loyalty points for him to download his music and TV programmes and all I’ve done is steal it for downloading photographs and blogging. Opphs!
