With a jobs list as long as your arm there was no slacking at Domestic Executive HQ today.  No time to waste.  There was grass to be mowed, gorse to be cut and thistles to be dug out. Good job my in-laws are back on their feet and ready to roll with some chores.

But all that had to wait until we tested Fortnum’s walking.  Here’s the result

Don’t worry, he’s fine.  Just taking a few minutes breather along the walking path.  Both he and Mason are so full of energy I think that they could have done the full walk but we didn’t want to take any chances with Fortnum’s poorly paw.

There is definitely nothing wrong with his pulling silly faces capability.

Back at base there was no time to waste.  It was time for someone other than me to see if they could make a better job of digging out the thistles.  Here’s a pretty impressive pile.

Pity that when you look at the gap created it doesn’t quite look so impressive.  At least I could see the fruits of my labour a little more clearly.  I was cutting grass around our natives.

It’s been a while since I’ve done a full day’s graft in the garden and my legs were starting to show their displeasure at the end of the day.  That was nothing compared to the effects of the sun though even though I had plenty of sun cream on.  I guess it must have washed off.  Boy do you have to be so careful living here.

Still, it was a very satisfying day.  I could tick off at least half the things on my list today.  Although gorse clearing and thistle digging will be a repeat item for many more days to come. Deep joy!
