So what do you do when you’re loved one goes away? In my case I clean the house from top to toe in an effort to keep busy.
Yes, I know coming from the ultimate independent woman. I too can be touched by loneliness. Thank goodness I had the bassets to keep me company. And plenty of cleaning to do too. The chicken house had extra spit and polish on this occasion.Â
In fact when I think about it the routine at Domestic Executive HQ hasn’t changed much. Cleaning, walking dogs, cleaning chickens, tying up trees, bringing in logs. The list goes on. Not to mention the end of month accounts, finalising the works stuff before I treat myself to some time off.
The skies were mainly blue today so that was nice. The bassets and I decided to hot foot it to one of our favourite stomping grounds – Kaitoke Regional Park. It was awesome. Very quiet, not another car in the car park so a free run for us to hoon around sniffing everything. That’s the dogs not me! I was too busy taking pictures for my blog for you to enjoy.
Today’s blog theme is crazy, wierd by beautiful trees. There are lots at the park as you can see from these pictures. It was good to get some fresh air and enjoy the views. Hope you enjoy these too.
Almost prehistoric!
When you get close to this you realise how much of this green is actually parasitic plants rather than trees
Really strange and pre-historic
I just love the layers of colours and tree types when you look at the temperate rain forest
Can’t beat the river – so crystal clear and free flowing
Stunning photographs and I love the NZ bush too. The vivid greens, depth and variety of bush always has me captivated. Looks like a few possums have sadly enjoyed some of those trees too 🙁
We were down there today! I have on many occasions taken photos of those awesome trees – they are truly amazing, its like a whole new life form growing at the top! x
Oh Julie, it’s amazing, I have to say I’m jealous, and glad you posted these pictures. While I’d like to show you more of what our waterfalls look like during the rainy season, the water there just looks so much better.
The colours are so much more vivid with all the rain we’ve had and nature springing into life. Thanks for admiring some of my favourite views!
