The weather reader spawned a new descriptor this morning – fine but mild.  I think it’s their way of not saying the sun is going to shine but there’ll be a bitterly cold wind.  The wind chill didn’t keep the bassets and I inside though.  Once I’d cleared the desk we played hookie down at Tunnel Gully.  Even though I pass these trees several times a week it never ceases to amaze me how tall and wiry they are.  When the winds get up the bark is often blown off the trunks which gets strewn all over.  Perfect chew toy for the bassets to fight over.
