I like nothing better at the end of a summer’s day to be able to kick back on the veranda and watch the sun go down. I’ve been reading up on photography at the edges of the day and last night was a perfect night to get out the tripod and put in a little practice.  Instead I was dragging along a couple of recalcitrant basset hounds along the back lane in an effort to keep their exercise regime (and mine) up to scratch. It didn’t stop the sunset being a blaze of fire and glory and we managed to catch the best of the view before it dipped behind the hill and we turned for home.
That would be one of those views where I would just sit down, stop and stare. I thought we used to get some stunning sunsets back in the UK, but the Wairarapa view is truly magnificent in the early evening as the sun goes down. I think its also the expansiveness – the amount of wide open space we have that just adds to the majesty.
In fact – I think I am going to go grab a coffee and go sit and stare at the bay for a while 🙂
WOW! It’s definitely time for us to move to a place with an expansive view… I so miss seeing the sunsets (though at least our property is sheltered a bit from the wind!).
Your photograph is like an oil painting – fabulous!!
Beautiful pic! We get gorgeous sunsets from our home during sumer too.
