The days when I can work from home have always been my happiest working days.  Before I became a full time Domestic Executive having the luxury to work from home a day a week made the grind of commuting and playing the rat race that much more bearable.  I know “working at home” has for some connotations of slacking off but my working at home work ethic has always been stronger with longer hours at the desk but higher levels of productivity that often found me still  in my pajamas until lunch time as I’d got so engrossed with whatever I was working on.

I don’t have the pure indulgence of staying in my PJ’s these days but the thrill of working from home is still a luxury that I treasure.  These days it’s because I swop my commuting time for an hours romp out with the hounds.  It might take a bit of persuasion to get out of their beds to join me but when they get out they enjoy our bright and breeze excursion too.   With three straight days in my home office the bassets have had more than their usual fair share of morning walks.

Whilst the sun maybe up the dew is still heavy on the grass which can be an occupational hazard for a basset hound.  Especially one that loves to ferret around in the undergrowth.  Admittedly Mason does prefer to jog along and occasionally chase some ducks or seagulls.

Like two peas in a pod Fortnum will be following his brother’s footsteps – generally 5 minutes later just to prove his independence.

And the fact that he has been lingering longer than is strictly necessary sniffing every blade of grass as he goes.
