I thought it would be cool to have a basset photo portrait to celebrate their birthday which was yesterday. The sun was shining so the scene was set for a spot of photo blogging.
Fortnum and Mason were their usual well behaved selves. Sitting nicely on the veranda with their best birthday looks. Don’t you agree we have two handsome bassets?
Don’t answer that it you’re going to hurt their feelings! It is after all their birthday week.
As you might expect achieving this one usable shot involved a little effort and patience. Lots of patience by all of us. But most of all by the bassets as I fussed around the veranda and flowerbeds trying to get the right angle. I’m starting to realise that my photography career might be short lived!
There all sorts of things that can spoil a shot. Those basset ears in particular can be a challenge. Come on Mason get your ears in order!
Sometimes there are calls of nature that just can wait!
Let me know Fortnum when the itch has gone away.
Often the call to line up and smile is not a command we’ve mastered in our obedience training
And sometimes the whole thing can just tiring and boring
All I wanted was one basset birthday portrait – now it wasn’t that much to ask was it!
Good boys!
Awwwwwwwww x 3000!! Soooo cute!
Now tell me, maybe I missed this but are F& M actual brothers??
Did you hang there for like an hour waiting for the best shots….go on admit it you blogging wonder!! I think Fortnum looks bigger….am I wrong?
Gorgeous doggies, get ready to teach Denny how to ‘pose’ like that! xx
These are some beautiful dogs!
Love your dogs, especially their ears. My flat coat retreiver never managed to sit with his back legs tidy. Isn’t this photography lark addictive? But what a good way to share our experiences and preserve memories. Look forward to seeing more pictures.
Loved the photos. Tell the boys Clyde and Bonnie are doing real well in ChCh. Clyde went best of breed at the prelude show yesterday and Bonnie reserve of breed and Clyde got best of breed today at the National Dog show. I’m very happy! I’m really looking forward to having them home on Monday though.
That’s so funny. We often try to get pictures of our cats. They do not like to cooperate. Neither does our 19 month old human for that matter 🙂
