I thought this picture summed up well how things are around here right now.  Wet, muddy and ducks have arrived.  Yes, it’s raining again.  Really raining.

Some parts of New Zealand have had 3 months rain in two days.  That’s pretty wet in anyone’s book.

Now the ducks love water and there are increasing numbers arriving.  When we moved into our dream home back in November last year.  We had ducks as our first set of visitors. There is a pair of ducks that seem to be making themselves at home on the neighbours land.  I’ll keep you posted of any developments on the breeding front.

Talking about neighbours Mike and Andrea moved in at the weekend.  It’s a relief for them I know.  Seeing their lights on an knowing they are not wielding paint brushes makes me feel a whole lot better too.  I think we’ll be seeing a bit of them when they’re all settled in.  You can read their house building story here.

So whilst the rain is coming down, the ducks are arriving, the mud’s getting thicker and the neighbours are arriving. I can sense what you’d really like to know is what do the bassets think of all this coming and going.

Here you go!

You hunker down under a nice warm blanket because the cold and wet has made you shiver.
