I can put up with the damp if there are some blue skies. Sunshine and showers.  A wonderful phenomena.

As long as you don’t have your washing on the line!

I don’t remember these sorts of days when I lived in the UK.  Perhaps I was just too engrossed in life or living right out in the country as we do now you become more attuned to what’s happening outside your window.

The potager has been enjoying the downpours and sunshine.  I collected a few more handfuls of tomatoes tonight although I think the frost is starting to get to them now. It will soon be time to dig them out and enrich the compost heap.

Showers over the potager

In the two days there have been plenty of these.

Rainbow

I almost leapt over the fence to find the pot of gold.  It was just a few metres away from our boundary.  Our neighbours were doing much better as this was definitely coming from their place.

Neighbourly rainbow

It’s hard to photograph rainbows and I wasn’t prepared to spend hours in photo shop trying to make it more colourful.  You’ll just have to use your imagination!

MT took a great shot that pretty much summarise the sunshine and rain we had this afternoon.

Rainbow through the window

Yes it’s sunshine and showers right now.  Together with a cold southerly it’s not quite a winning combination but better than clouds and downpours of earlier in the week.

A rainbow in the sky has really magical properties.  I certainly like to take time and look at them.  It somehow feels like a smile from the sky.  Now that can only be a good thing.

What a thought for all those people in the UK enjoying a bank holiday weekend.  Shame we missed out on ours last week as Anzac Day happened on a weekend you loose the holiday benefit.  Maybe the rainbows are here to make up for that!
