Tonight we were celebrating. It’s been a sunny and calm day and we had temperatures of 24 degrees celsius at 7pm this evening. A rare thing indeed. We celebrated with dinner on the veranda watching the sun go down.
It’s fair to say that the balmy conditions were short lived as the moment the sun sets behind the hill the temperature plummeted. Still, it was nice whilst it lasted.
The lighter nights make evening chores span out a little longer. The chickens for instance don’t head to their roost till around 8pm and the bassets are ready for mad hooning around this time too before they collapse in a tired heap ready to sleep.
It was such a beautiful evening we took some pictures as part of the evening celebrations to share the views we enjoyed.
Despite the wonderful night sky the bassets were intent on their usual boyish rough and tumble. But first a bit of sniffing to be done!
Now it’s time to square off before a fight
Hang on, what’s this over here?
OK, back now. Let’s play!

Fortnum was right, there was an amazing full moon tonight.
Nice eh!
Gorgeous! You are going to have some of the most amazing photos to cherish forever x
I love the first picture, it looks like a painting. Do you photoshop or is it au naturel? Lucky you being able to eat outside. It’s a bit cold here. The last 2 photos answer the question I’ve just posed in my blog about the phases of the moon. I wasn’t sure.
Hi Ruta – I auto fix in photoshop elements and that’s it. To be honest I can’t work out how the other things work out. Although I’ve read lots of online tutorials it seems a right fiddle so I give the pics a quick clean up and that’s it. If the pictures change significantly I undo as I want them to au natural! JT
Mmm, I’m loving these evenings too. I love to stare up at the full moon and think of my loved ones far away.
