With the rain lashing down and the wind whipping around the house there is nothing better than hunkering down in front of the fire to dream of summer. After some pottering on the internet I downloaded a marvellous free tool for mind mapping, Xmind. It’s helped me work map out my kitchen garden stock for the coming year. Now I just need to get myself organised, make my final order for seeds, buy the seed potatoes and we’ll be in business before too long. I noticed this afternoon that there are buds already coming on the trees in the orchard – just hope we don’t get any hard frosts to ruin their chances this coming year.
Love your mind map and love the aspirations of growing all of this wonderful produce.
Have you thought of adding kohlrabi to the brassicas family, they are very easy to grown and fantastic in slaw style salad. For the herbs I suggest trying summer savoury, it’s a cross between thyme and rosemary, yum with roasted new potatoes and chicken dishes. Soft fruits try tayberreis and mulberries, they are delicious and over here very sought after and expensive.
I envy you!!! Happy dreaming and happy planting when the weather do eventually clear up.
We are experiencing our hottest day of the year, today but as you know it’s one day and then its all over again.

Oh no! Mind mapping reminds me of when I was teaching! In my latter years at work, we were given mind mapping text books to read despite the fact that some of us had been doing it for years. Must say how impressive your mind map looks.
