It’s been a very long time since we’ve endured so much rain in such a short space of time.  New Zealand’s drought has well and truly broken with flooding, land slips and the usual range of challenging conditions that the rain brings.  Put together with some biting southerlies it’s time to accept that winter is now well and truly here.

These damp conditions are not conducive for photography and certainly I’ve been reluctant to take my shining new camera out in the damp. I have however continued to see photographs wherever I go so I packed up my trusty D40 in the hope of a break in the rain.  Alas the rain hasn’t stopped.  In the last two week’s we’ve had 128.5mm of rain.  That’s a lot of damp.
