Getting a bird’s eye view from a plane reminds you what a largely unspoiled country New Zealand is.  Miles and miles of empty landscape – the sheer scale of it is mesmerising.  But this was nothing compared to hugging the mountain to tip into Queenstown, New Zealand’s adrenaline city.  The hill sides were splashes of deep red and yellow – a burst of autumn colour.  Then when you land you realise just how big this landscape is.  Big skies, big mountains and crystal clean air that takes your breath away.

It’s been a long while since we last ventured to Central Otago.  It was the place that stole our heart and we vowed to move to here. No doubt Queenstown itself is a place to enjoy but it’s the surrounding places I’m most looking forward to revisiting. First though – I need to drink in this view a bit more.
