We had a nice surprise yesterday.  Our information country lane seems to have been upgraded and the broadband connection appears to be moving faster than the usual pace of a lost flock of sheep.

I have to admit it wasn’t me that spotted this development but MT point it our.  This amazing news came complete wiht instruction on the broadband speed check, a masterclass in information technology links in Kaitoke and a small celebration that at last iTunes can download more than one programme an hour!

I just love the internet and admit to being able to getting lost in cyberspace for hours if I let myself.  I have to be disciplined about what I do and how much time I spend otherwise the whole day can be gone and no Domestic Executive duties of any kind done at all.

Having joined the geekess community with my blog, I am continually amazed about what’s possible using ICT.  It’s such a priviledge to be living in the time when such technology is opening up the world in a way never possible before.

I just hope that the speedy broadband test is not a fluke or a tease from Telecom.  It’s great to be able to download information quickly, upload to the blog and turn off the computer quicker since we’re not having to leave it downloading for ages.  This last point is a particular advantage since I nearly had to go to the bank yesterday to take out a second mortgage to pay for the power bill.

This is a nice way to end the week as judging by the picture of rain and gales outside my windows it’s going to be another weekend to hunker down in front of the fire.
