Colder than your fridge was the weather warning for the overnight frosts. They were wrong. It was colder than a freezer. The gates were frozen tight and the car completely frosted. No self respecting person lingered outside too long. So imagine my annoyance... Mason is very much an indoor dog. He’d rather hang around indoors whatever the weather than venture off the veranda and explore. Big Basset prefers to be outdoors always wandering off on his own to check out new smells. But neither bassets are that fond of... I almost broke my neck falling over the bassets who were sprinting with me to fetch my camera. They had no idea why I was running. It’s such a rare occurrence that they were excited and just wanted to run with me. I simply had to grab a snap of the fiery... With the wind howling around the verandas and the rain lashing down it’s hard to remember when the sun beat down on the kitchen garden. Even when we didn’t get much sun this summer I would pick those days over what winter is starting to throw at us right... There is something festive about deep reds and greens. It makes me feel Christmasy even though that festive season is still months away. Such colours warm the soul when all around us there is bleak and wet weather. I’m heartened also by the rocket growing close...
