I share your excitement for the upcoming Chelsea Flower Show. Armchair gardening allows us to become horticultural pundits and revel in the glamour of the event from the comfort of our homes. While I’ve never been to Chelsea myself, I appreciate the contrast between the curated world of gardening and the realities we face in our own gardens. Growing plants successfully requires skills, know-how, and perseverance. I also find inspiration in those who live off the land and cultivate beauty for others to enjoy. Currently, I’m engrossed in the book “A Wood of One’s Own” by Ruth Pavey, which highlights the challenges and joys of making an orchard your own. Nature always has its own game to play, constantly reminding us of its power and complexity. It’s a reminder that even techies can’t match the ultimate game that nature presents.
