This weekend reminded me of winter’s past, when glorious sunshine would strike every five day’s or so, just to give us a break and keep us going till spring. We walked down to Lyall Bay – with every man and his excited dog – to see the incredible high tide jumping over the sea wall. Yesterday, we enjoyed the Winter Carnival in Petone – fabulous evening for it – the weather Gods were kind indeed! Ah, feels so good to have had sun today! Hurray!!!

Oh dear, so sorry Ruta. It’s been a glorious few days but the big difference here is when the sun does come out it is hot, hot hot. We’re back in freezing winds now with the southerly coming through. It was lovely whilst it lasted though! JT
