					<description><![CDATA[Well we know of and have seen people laying 1080 and it is pretty nasty stuff. I didnt know about the plane dropping and that is just absolutely mental in my view, who knows where this stuff could end up -surely the people at DOC know about all the risks, they obviously still think thats its a feasible thing to do...I bet they say that from their suburban home. A petition is needed x]]></description>

					<description><![CDATA[I&#039;ve just read the link about 1080 and it sounds horrendous. Toxic to feral deer and goats! so there are no other plant eating species out there.......... or carnivores that will feed on the toxic carcases of the possums/other herbivores that were poisoned. Why don&#039;t they make sure and drop a few bombs as well. It&#039;s many years since I did my biology degree but this sounds like environmental lunacy.

&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;You should hear our neighbour on this subject.  He&#039;s a hunter and will spend many nights out in the back country hunting boar.  I think he&#039;s had a number of dogs poisoned by 1080.  It&#039;s a slow and painful death.  Interestingly, a community in the south island has managed to get the air drop stopped in lieu of manual laying.  This is marginally better but still not right in my mind.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;]]></description>
