She said she loves coming up this way as its like ‘walking into autumn’. And right she is too, we get all the amazing tree changes yet most trees down that way are evergreen – I read something once in a travel book before coming to NZ that the trees in Welly had been purposely planted to give tourists that all year round summer feeling!!

It was very windy here last night & I never sleep when it rains heavily on the tin roof. The wind was gusting heavily around the house – shaking it and a number of times I thought the roof was going to lift off and take me with it! Sunny now and hoping it’s a calmer night tonight. x

I love your close ups of the autumn leaves. I can never make up my mind if I should go for the close up shots for pure beauty or the overall view to set the scene which is why I usually do both. Hoping the hatches stay battened down.
