Marrisa - I love you! Your humour and honesty, as always, put a warm smile on my face. I also used to think ' pah' to Thanksgiving - but I have to say - of all the various celebrations the Thanksgiving one is perhaps, in this day and age, more worthy than many others of a high place on the calendar.

Thanks to Domestic Executive for getting us all thinking!

Thanksgiving. For many years I have thought 'pah, another American thing', yet as the years roll on I realise how lucky they are to have this celebration. A day where you HAVE TO find something to be thankful for, a glimmer of hope in some people who are having a hard time. Simple, magical.

My things to be thankful for this week are: supportive friends, a lust for life, and alcohol!! xx

I'm joining you on being thankful for the rain! It has saved me standing outside for a loooong time moving the sprinkler around the garden (not that I mind too much, as I find it quite therapeutic!).

At this point in time my thoughts are with those in India and the families who have lost loved ones or are still in a hostage situation.

I'm intrigued, is that a local public space, or somebody's very large garden ? Which ever, it's a lot of grass if you had to cut it. Thank you for the Thanksgiving theme, I shall probably borrow it for today's post.
ps Have you seen Pioneerwoman's sweet video of her basset being not terribly energetic ?

<strong><em>Hi Ruta, it's a public park. Tunnel Gully. We can see it from our kitchen window down the valley and as well as bush walks it has this massive area of grass. Great for picnics as well as basset hooning!
