Hopefully your training sessions will do the trick. I had to do something similar with young Zulu when a sheep invaded our garden and ended up in the pond. As our previous dog, a lurcher, had been a sheep worrier and our garden has no fences we could take no chances. While Peter rescued the sheep I applied voice and a riding crop (harsh but absolutely necessary) to Zulu if he so much as looked at the sheep. It worked and he lived the next 14 years not taking any notice of sheep even when he was walking in the same field. He never took any notice of the hens even though when he was young they roamed free in the garden. I did have to keep one of the cats in the conservatory for a month after he started dispatching some chicks that had hatched. Alternative idea - put Mason in with George, it might work.
