Sarah it was a lovely day – so family friendly. Your girls might still be too young for a full day but they’d be free and it’s only $10 so give it a go. Take a picnic though! JT x

Hi Jane – I can’t pronounce it either but it’s something like Tenenikau (ignor the bit in the middle!). Hope you’re enjoying New Zealand though. There are plenty escapee Brits here. My husband says it’s “the empire striking back”! JT

Hi there, I found you via Blogaroundtheworld. How amazing, I’m also an ex-pat Brit, finding my way through as an alien on the wonderful Planet New Zealand. Thanks for your great photos about the races. I will try to go next year, as I’ve always wondered what it was like at the race course that I STILL can’t pronounce.
