Since Rick and I are Americans, we can’t seem to stop ourselves from celebrating Thanksgiving even here in NZ. I wouldn’t be going so tinsel crazy if it wasn’t for the girls. In our pre-children days we focused more on the New Year too and usually planned a big tramping trip somewhere in the bush.

I love your ‘festive postcard’ idea – so nice to take time to write meaningfully, rather than in haste just to beat the postal deadlines for Christmas.
