I will try this out Ruta - I can feel the strain sometimes - although the podcast trainer keeps drilling on the heel first principle. Hope it works for you.

You sound like you have put a lot of effort into your running, Well done! There was an interesting study on the TV the other day about how the way you run affects the knee joint. Heel first (the usual running style) causes an immense amount of strain on the knee but putting the ball of the foot down first (natural bare foot running style) sends the force further up the leg and protects the knee. I'm going to try this as my poor old knee could not cope even with my miniscule daily jog.
