Im definately in the "couch potato" category and will die an early death according to these reports. But as you say - as much of that is because I can spend hours staring at the view and the sea (admitedly not as much from our apartment), or working on a laptop as watching TV. I do go to the gym, but that to be honest is more because I really dont like outdoor excercise. Like you - my aprents love gardening, so they are pretty fit and healthy from doing that - despite watching an awful lot of TV as well. The gardening bug seems to have skipped me completely - so a treadmill has to do lol.

I can think of nothing better than sitting well wrapped up and watching those fantastic cloud scapes as my contribution to sedentary activities. It isn't always possible to be active. A recent tv program (which I heard about) showed that several sessions a week of 30 secs vigorous exercise followed by 30 secs rest and repeated 4 times (4 mins in total) resulted in the same fitness levels and weight loss as 30 mins daily exercise. Must give that a try.
