Hi MsZoomy, Thanks for the tip. The notion of cleaning my bassets ears after they eat is just too exhausting. The only time I've ever done this is when they were puppies and having milky food. Now they can trail their own dirt around - they seem to have a good clean up routine going. We installed tiles in the basset zones of our house when we built it which means it doesn't matter too much if they trail slobber, food and water around. A quick mop over and it's gone.
typical basset, ruled by the stomech!! I used to joke that I could set my clocks to Abigail's stomach!! 6:00 was dinner time and not a second later, occasionally early if she could get away with it, but not a second later or there was hell to pay!!!

may I suggest, the narrow, tall bowls, with the rounded bottoms. It keeps the ears out and the kibble doesn't get stuck at the edges where it's hard to reach, just a little wisdom from a fellow basset owner who got sick of cleaning ears after every meal

Thanks for another nice story about the boys

As I see Fortnum eating.
It's remanding me that
some basset owner tie their ears while they're eating.
It's cute but I don't know it hurt or not.

By the way,
I love to send you my water color postcard.
would you please let me know where to send the card to you?
I plan drawing Fortnum and Mason tonight.
