Akaroa is a slice of New Zealand paradise. Situated on the Banks Peninsula about an hour’s drive south of Christchurch. The Akaroa harbour is one of the most picturesque places and well worth a trip. I recommend you stay a while to get the real sense of place and enjoy all that the Banks Peninsula has to offer, including the famous Banks Peninsula Track. There is an abundance of marine life on the harbour including Hector’s Dolphins, Little Blue Penguins, New Zealand Shags, New Zealand Seals and Albatross.
