My single globe artichoke is proving increasingly irresistible.  This culinary delicacy is destined to the steamer in just a few days.  I’ve only eaten them from a full plant once in my life – it was to be honest a little woody.  Not at all like the artichoke hearts I’m familiar with from the deli or canned which are a regular pizza topping with some salty parma ham.  Shame there is only one this year as I can see these being a real eating challenge best shared for true kitchen entertainment.
