Here at Domestic Executive HQ there are two bassets who think they have died and gone to heaven.  Two more people to pester and walks galore.  Yes, they had two walks today – and long may it continue I can hear them say.

Yes, it’s a dream life for Fortnum and Mason there is no mistaking that!

It’s just as well that they have two new fans as my jobs list seems to be ticked off and then grow again like topsy.  What is it about Christmas that makes you turn into some productivity freak.  Doing all those things you’ve been forgetting to do all year.  It’s like some sort of challenge to finish the year at a sprint.  And, I haven’t even started thinking about Christmas catering, present wrapping (or buying in some cases).  It’s going to be a tight run thing to even get the cards in the post.

But hey, Fortnum and Mason are not bothered by such trivialities.  They have their perfect life which revolves almost entirely around eating, sleeping, sniffing, walking, playing and cuddling.  Sounds good – although I think I’ll skip the sniffing bits!

Although I’m feeling that yuletide pressure I can’t help but feel grateful for all that I have.  Most of all, I am grateful it has rained today.  And, it’s going to rain some more.  The bassets and chickens won’t like it but it’s going to be heaven for the trees, grass, vegetables and those pesky thistles and gorse.

What’s making your life perfect today – do tell!
