Mornings of mist and mellow fruitfulness are a joy to behold at the moment. The way that the sun peeks over the hills and the mist snakes its way along the valleys.  Today I grabbed the camera bag before I left on the commuter run to take MT to the station determined to see if I could capture this spirit of autumn.

I stopped at the scenic lookout just down the hill to capture these pictures.  I got a wonderful view of the mists travelling along the valley towards Kaitoke hill.

It was strange to watch the mist encroaching the fields, houses and surrounding trees.  I was glad I was up the hill and the mist couldn’t get me.

The mist doesn’t look any friendlier up close.

Mist snake

It’s incredible how it blankets everything in its path.

Mist blanket

It’s a beautiful sight but it only lasts a few minutes before it snakes away and the day begins.

Mist disappearing

There was no mist in our valley this morning just a golden sunlight that shone on the hills and the garden.  It was a beautiful sight.  Worth hanging around for a few minutes to enjoy the autumn glow.  But I didn’t hang around for long as it was a chilly 7 degrees and I had a busy day of work appointments ahead of me.  Yes no time for day dreaming there was Executive duties to be fulfilled.
