Being back in Central Otago was like being reunited with an old friend.  The sort of friend that you strike up conversation as if you had seen them just a short while ago.  The sort of friend that doesn’t concern themselves with the fact it’s actually been almost 10 years since you’ve clapped eyes on them.  It’s the sort of relationship where time only serves to deepen the bond you have and you part ways vowing to see each other more often.

No doubt that I’m as smitten with this beautiful landscape once again.  It’s the breathtaking way the water, land and sky blend together with a dash of colour.  No wonder so many artists are drawn to the area.  Although I did wield my camera occasionally it was not a photographic expedition.  Although inspired by photographers at the Picture Lounge in Wanaka I would dearly love to spend time exploring this part of New Zealand photographically.

It was staying in Wanaka 9 years ago that planted the seed for us to move to New Zealand.  Now I am lovestruck all over again I wonder what might happen as a result of this latest visit.
