The flowers on the Rock Rose only last a day or so.  They flourish and then die away until another flush of colour arrives another day.  With the daysmrattling past at breakneck speed. It’s like a pink blur out of the window.

The whirlwind carries on inside too with as I slowly tick off each task on my too do list I feel slightly more satisfied that we are one step closer to being done for Christmas.  Well done at least in terms of closing up the office for a few weeks and giving work a rest.  The fact that there is another to do list waiting for attention is just fine detail I won’t be bothered with right now.

Before all that there are more pressing domestic matters.  My in-laws arrive in just a few days so it will be action stations.  We’re really looking forward to seeing them as it’s over a year since we saw them last and two since they were in New Zealand.  When I tell people my in-laws are coming people say all the usual in-laws jokes and can’t quite believe me when I say no, I’m really looking forward to spending 6 weeks with my mother-in-law. She may frown at my sloppy ironing habits but otherwise we rub along nicely ganging up together on the men in the household!
