It’s that time of year where kiwis their new dressing regime.  Layering clothes to be able to cope with the wild variations you can get in temperature.  I was up to 4 layers yesterday plus gloves as I dragged the hounds away from their centrally heated snooze spot.  By the time we got back from our walk we were back to two layers, no gloves, and wishing I’d had my sun hat.  But then it went dark and I was not quick enough to add that vital third layer so to avoid hyperthermia I wallowed in a hot bath to get back up to regulation temperature.

The emergence of toadstools through the forest undergrowth is a sure sign that autumn is here to stay.  I’ve vowed I’ve embraced the chilly seasons this year with a more positive attitude and greater diligence with my layering.  It remains to be seen how long that will last since I’m off to the Mountains for three days next week for work.  Honest, all work, it’s not that cold yet for snow!
