It was hotter and dryer yesterday than it was supposed to be. The bassets had a particularly tiring walk as a result. The first priority when we were back was to rehydrate us all. You can see in this picture that Mason was wasting no time in making himself more refreshed.
Then it was time for a bit of a lie down!
Fortnum was pretty much the same – drink first.
Then a rest.
No harm done. These basset boys were right as rain in no time. In fact, this morning they’ve been up to their usual tricks. Helping me with my outside chores.
After two failed attempts using hydro seeding I’ve resorted to using out top soil from the massive pile by the barn and seeding by hand. This is a bit of an experiment but since it’s going to rain today (in fact, as I write this post) we’ll see whether my haphazard DIY method fairs any better.
It needs a bit more walking down at this point but I got slightly distracted by the usual basset antics. One fall and one submission.
A quick recovery by Fortnum back on his feet.
And now Mason is down and Fortnum’s on the attack
Take that you pesky brother.
See how easily I’m distracted from my chores by these boys. Finger crossed the wind doesn’t blow away the new grass seed. Or the birds eat it. Or the rain to bypass us altogether and it die from dehydration. I think I need to get the bassets better trained in some rain dancing!
