It’s fair to say that dogs sleep a lot.  I’m not sure whether Fortnum and Mason sleep more than most but they seem to sleep at the drop of a hat, without excuse, just for the heck of it and to while away the time.

Whilst I’m working things in Domestic Executive HQ can be pretty dull for them.  After a while even being outdoors can be boring so always best to head inside to the warm for a snooze.

Just recently our boys have learned to climb onto sofas which technically speaking are off limits.  Little basset, Mason, is constantly being told off for making himself comfortable.  It got real quiet in my office whilst I was coaching which is never a good sign.  Mason had hopped up on to my office sofa and settled himself and Fortnum so wanted to do the same.

After quite a struggle he finally got himself up and then it turned into a case of “move over brother” as Fortnum tried to get himself into a comfy position so he could settle down for a good long snooze.  Almost 3 hours in total.  I reckon that can be classified as a big sleep!

Up at last – now I just need somewhere to sit!

Move over will you, I’m sure there’s room for two

That’ll do nicely thanks bro’

See, I knew we could both fit!

Ah, that’s even better a pillow for my head!

This is pretty good to – give the neck a bit of a stretch

I could tell you weren’t totally happy with me being there!

He’s such a fidgit and I can’t stand him snoring up my nose!

I guess that will have to do as he’s certainly not going to move over for me!

For those eagle eyed people wondering why I have a purple cushion on the back of the chair.  This is actually from the window seat in the family room but Mason thought it was better brought into Domestic Executive HQ.  Also, mental note – must put pictures stored behind sofa on the wall!
