Given the foul weather we’ve had recently it was wonderful to see some blue sky again.  There may have been a biting wind from the southerly still but if you hung around in the sun long enough it didn’t seem to matter that much.

After my trip with the bassets to Harcourt Park on my own I wanted to show MT this bridge over the Hutt River.  It’s a massive feat of engineering for a pedestrian bridge.

It’s got modern clean lines and makes quite a statement.

A useful thing to have to cross the Hutt River from the park to reach the Hutt River Trail. This makes the recreational path accessible and a pleasure to reach.

On the other side is basset heaven.  The biggest open grassed area you’d ever need to hoon around on.

Many years ago we went on holiday to Stowe, Vermont, New England and they had an awesome recreational path.  In the few days we were staying there we walked up and down this path and saw some fantastic views and enjoyed watching the local community and visitors enjoying the path too.

Since then we’ve always looked for an equivalent in places we’ve lived.  A place where people can walk, jog, bike and just meander for pure pleasure. The Hutt River trail falls into that category.

By the time we got back to the park to head home, the wind had dropped and the temperature soared by 10 degrees.  A day to enjoy.  Which is just what we did.
